Roles and Responsibilities 01

Painting Quality 

  • Preparation of painting procedure and Painting Inspection & Test Plan in accordance with relevant codes/standards and client specifications.
  • Review of paint requirements as per project specifications and provide input to planning/execution team for quantity of paint material required for the project.
  • Preparation of receiving material inspection report upon receipt of paint material and get approval from client
  • Conduct inspection of paint materials at manufacturer’s premises and witness necessary tests.
  • Preparation and execution of Coating Qualification plan prior to commencement of painting activities.
  • Monitor Weather condition suitable for the painting operation.
  • Monitor surface preparation to assure the cleanliness.
  • Monitor paint mixing procedures & technique, application technique to achieve the required standards. 
  • Conduct all tests such as Surface profile test, dust level test, chloride contamination test, WFT, DFT, Adhesion test, Holiday test etc. 
  • Frequent interaction with Paint manufacturers for the product related advice in case of need & for approvals purpose.
  • Monitoring of Paint storage conditions, Expired paint records, Batch numbers, shelf-life records, First in first out monitoring etc. 
  • Conduct stage wise coating inspection on daily basis before offering to client and preparation of necessary reports.
  • Oversee the entire painting operation including correct usage of equipment, avoid wastage, keep a log of paint material consumption etc.
  • Review of alternate paint system offered by vendor/sub-contractor vis-a-visa required paint system and obtain clearance/approval from client .

Roles and Responsibilities 02

Painting Quality 

  • Review of painting procedure submitted by vendor/sub-contractor.
  • Coordinate with Client or their nominated inspection agencies for inspection as per approved Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Ensure that all inspections have been performed as per approved ITP and inspection report is maintained.
  • Comply with all safety requirements as per HSE manual / instructions.

Roles and Responsibilities 03

QMS/Audit Management

  • Ensure Project Quality requirements are met
  • Monitor the set project quality objectives and ensure that it is achieved 
  • Issue NCR upon finding any non-conformances and ensure that necessary corrective or remedial actions has been taken and NCR is closed within stipulated time frame.
  • Participate in internal project audit per scheduled audit program as directed by Project Quality Manager / Head-Quality.
  • Participate in internal / external QMS audit.

Key Objective of the Job Position

To control, monitor painting activities at site, fabrication yards, vendor’s premises and ensure that it is complied to client requirements

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or Painting Technology

Educational Desirable: Certification in painting (NACE Level II or BGAS Grade 2 or SSPC PCI/SSPC Level 2)

Computer Software Proficiency

Experience Range

5-15 years of experience in painting in oil and gas construction projects.
Shall be fully conversant with applicable industry standards such as NACE, SSPC, ASTM, DIN, ISO etc.
Should be acquainted with offshore painting standard/specification

Work Environment

May need to travel to vendor’s premises  
Deputed at construction site during the project construction
Need to work at offshore platform during painting campaign 
May have to work long hours, including evenings and weekends. Work in all rough climatic conditions at Sea during offshore campaign
