Roles and Responsibilities 01

  • Commissioning Planning & Execution:

    • Develop detailed mechanical commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for the storage tank project.
    • Coordinate mechanical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning to final handover.
    • Supervise and manage the mechanical commissioning team, ensuring efficient and timely execution of work.
  • System Testing & Troubleshooting:

    • Oversee the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems (e.g., tanks, pipelines, pumps, valves, pressure vessels, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards while troubleshooting any mechanical issues.
    • Collaborate with engineers and vendors to resolve any system-related issues during commissioning.

  • Quality & Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure commissioning activities adhere to the highest quality standards and project specifications.
    • Implement and enforce safety procedures to meet both site-specific and regulatory safety standards.
    • Perform safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Project Coordination:

    • Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams for seamless integration of commissioning activities.
    • Ensure that all mechanical systems are properly documented, and reports are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Client Liaison:

    • Interact with clients and stakeholders during the commissioning phase, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns.
    • Ensure all mechanical systems are operational before handover to clients.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate commissioning records, including test results, reports, and certifications.
    • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly commissioning progress reports to senior management

  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of commissioning engineers and technicians, ensuring effective task delegation and team performance.

Key Objective of the Job Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Commissioning Deputy Manager/Manager for our EPC Storage Tank Project at Mundra, Gujarat. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of mechanical commissioning activities, ensuring that storage tanks and related mechanical systems are completed and functional per specifications, within time and budget constraints, and compliant with safety and quality standards.

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechanical/Civil/ Chemical

Educational Desirable: Master’s Degree in Engineering.

Computer Software Proficiency

Experience Range

    • Minimum of 8–15 years of experience in commissioning of mechanical systems for large-scale EPC projects, specifically related to storage tanks or similar infrastructure.
    • Proven experience in handling mechanical commissioning activities for storage tank projects.
    • Experience with major EPC projects in oil & gas, petrochemicals, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of commissioning procedures, including mechanical systems, equipment, and utilities.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems and equipment.
    • Familiarity with relevant standards (API, ASME, ASTM, etc.) and regulations in mechanical commissioning.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective stakeholder management.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and other technical documents
  • Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in commissioning, health & safety, or quality control will be a plus (e.g., HAZOP, NEBOSH, etc.).

Work Environment

  • The position is based on-site at Mundra, Gujarat.
  • The role will require fieldwork, and the candidate must be willing to work in a construction environment.
  • Willingness to work in shifts as required, especially during critical project phases.
  • Adherence to the company’s safety and health regulations at all times.
