Roles and Responsibilities 01
Drive Business Growth
- Overall responsibility for the complete, timely and comprehensive proposal / bid submission to the customer/client.
- Understanding the Bid requirements and taking inputs from various departments for TQs and CQs for getting suitable clarifications.
- Manage correspondence with external (Clients, Consortium members, Pre- Bid Consultants, Sub-contractors, Engg Team, Legal, Finance, Legal, Taxes, etc.) and update the responses to the team.
- To evaluate various agencies (Consortium partners, Pre-Bid Consultants, Service’s Sub-contractors, Engg consultants, Marine services etc.) for Client qualification.
- Win orders for the Project & get company qualified / registered in various bodies.
- Tracking the suitable business opportunities as per company’s portfolio.
- Maintaining good relation with the existing clients and developing clients.
- Market intelligence.
- Keeping a track on all the amendments and clarifications issued by Client from time to time and circulating them within team in order to incorporate the relevant changes.
- Maintaining all the records of communications with the Clients and within departments (Clarifications, Extension Letters, approval notes, Tender Study Note etc.) for reference anytime during or after the award of the Tender.
- Maintaining relationship with Subcontractors to understand market scenario.
Roles and Responsibilities 02
Drive Business Growth
- After award of the project, preparing for all the post bid activities like PBGs
- Draft Contract Checking and Internal Kick off Meeting etc.
- Ensuring proper signing of Contract with all the comments in Draft contract being incorporated.
Bid Management
- Development, review and issuance of documentation and information in support of complex bid preparation. Monitoring bid progress and ensuring submission consistently ahead of planned deadlines.
Techno-Commercial Analysis
- Assist in analyzing bid requirements by thorough understanding of contract conditions and preparing workflow for submission.
- Ensuring first-rate technical and commercial feasibility thereby concluding the bid in a business opportunity.
Financial Analysis
- Assist in analyzing cost impact by conducting historical win/loss analysis of previous bids, preparing estimates, and getting competitive price list from vendors to arrive at target price.
Proposal Management
- Coordinate and assist in the proposal process.
- Build a construction proposal template library that can be used by the entire sales BD department.
- Writing business proposals.
JV/Consortium Agreements
- Assist in Draft Joint Venture / Consortium agreements and understanding project viability of collaborative bid participation with international partners
Roles and Responsibilities 03
Database Management
- Research, maintain database and track opportunities of current and future tenders, from project inception to published plans by individual utilities, international multi-lateral development banks.
- Assist in Drafting and reviewing contracts.
- Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices, etc.
Risk Management
- Review of potential risk involved in operating in a country, prepare risk matrix comprising of socio-economic and commercial factors, to take calculated risk for a specific country and in case of tender participation.
Consortium Agreements/MoU
- Assist in dDraft & review of Contract & Consortium agreement, MoU, NC-NDA for various independent Consultants, Financing Agency, and EPC companies alike for international projects.
Employee Engagement
- Emphasis on organization learning and growth.

- Monitoring the documentation of learning’s from past bid on an annual basis
- Ensuring transparency in employee performance management. Timely completion of fair “Annual Performance Appraisals” and submission.
- Ensure adequate understanding of responsibilities of subordinates individually and collectively as a team to accomplish work assigned.
- Grooming of sub-ordinates, coaching, mentoring, and providing timely assistance to subordinates.
- Address grievances of subordinates.
Key Objective of the Job Position
Increasing revenues, growth in terms of business expansion, increasing profitability by making strategic business decisions, and building strategic partnerships. Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/the board of directors. Writing business proposals, undertaking techno-commercial analysis & costing of high value projects.
Education Qualifications
Educational Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Educational Desirable: MBA in Business Administration
Computer Software Proficiency
Conversant with MS Windows 98 10 & XP, MS Excel, MS Word, Windows, Power Point
Experience Range
Minimum 6 to 20 years of experience in Business Development activities with various domestic and International Client from Oil and Gas Industry.
Work Environment
Work in an office environment but will frequently travel within the day for face-to-face meetings with Clients and other business partners. It can be challenging trying to create new business opportunities, in addition to the constant pressure of meeting or exceeding targets. It’s quite a creative role and can be very satisfying. May have the responsibility of managing a team and their output. Expected to dress smartly, especially for meetings, though slightly more relaxed business casual attire may be acceptable at other times. Overnight or overseas travel may be required.
