Roles and Responsibilities 01

1. Execution Management

  • Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the technical lifecycle of instrumentation scopes from conceptual engineering and interface design through to construction, mechanical completion, and final commissioning.
  • System Integration: Oversee the engineering, configuration, and integration of complex control and safety platforms, specifically PLC, DCS, SIS, ESD, FGS, and SCADA.
  • Subsea Control Systems: Supervise the engineering, umbilical routing, operational testing, and deployment of subsea control networks, Subsea Distribution Units (SDUs), and Umbilical Termination Assemblies (UTAs).
  • Commissioning Leadership: Formulate and execute pre-commissioning frameworks, final commissioning procedures, loop check methodologies, and Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) protocols.
  • Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of technical personnel, specialized tooling, and vendor support to meet critical project milestones.
  • Technical Resolution: Act as the final technical authority to provide resolution for design variations, unexpected field anomalies, and complex brownfield integration challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities 02

Execution Management :

  • Conducting weekly/ fortnightly HSSE and QAQC walkthroughs with respective Leads for complete alignment of every stake holder on project objectives.
  • Participation in the daily/ mass toolbox talks actively.
  • Ensuring availability of required resources all the time.
  • Preparation of Job safety hazard report for offshore work.
  • Having good knowledge of working in brown field site conditions.

Relationship skills

  • Ensure regular interactions and cordial relations with clients and client representatives.
  • Ensure regular interactions with vendors/ Subcontractors.

Safety Awareness

  • Monitor safety during execution of project adhering to the norms of the clients & HSE policy to ensure zero incident/accident.
  • Emphasis on Safety workshop, Safety Drills, Safety Awareness.

Employee Engagement skills 

  • Emphasis on organization learning and growth.

Lesson Learned, Seamless Communication. 

  • Monitoring the documentation of learning’s from the project on an annual basis.
  • Ensure adequate understanding of responsibilities of subordinates individually and collectively as a team to accomplish work assigned.

Key Objective of the Job Position

  • Execute the project as per budget, in accordance with the approved strategies, policies and procedures, quality, safety norms and revenue targets of AFCONS. 
  • To control, monitor and direct the Project team members in execution of the project and achieving Operational Excellence.

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation.

Educational Desirable: Master’s Degree in Engineering.

Computer Software Proficiency

Engineering Platforms: SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), AVEVA Instrumentation, or Intools.

Codes & Standards: Thorough working knowledge of international standards including ISA, IEEE, IEC (specifically IEC 61508/61511 for Functional Safety), API (specifically API 17F for subsea control systems), and ASME.

Experience Range

Minimum12 to 18 years of experience in Projects involving Offshore Construction Management with minimum 5 years of experience in the capacity of Offshore Project coordinator.

Domain Expertise: Proven track record in brownfield project site execution, commissioning strategies, and the design, implementation, and modification of PLC, DCS, SIS, ESD, FGS, SCADA, and subsea production control systems.

Work Environment

May have to work long hours, including evenings and weekends. Work in all rough climatic conditions at Sea. Working at outdoors at Offshore construction sites so that they can monitor operations and solve problems May need to work extra hours to ensure that the projects meet their deadlines. May need to travel to work sites at domestic or overseas location. Deal & convince all types of people including labour & clients. Maintain a high-level Safety standard at work site as Offshore Construction work is risk prone.
