Roles and Responsibilities 01

Confirmatory Stage Designs

  • Ensuring the preparations of Designs and Engineering Proposals for Shallow and Deep Foundations, Ground Improvements, Slope Stability, Deep Excavation support systems, Geotechnical Investigations, and other geotechnical solutions for infrastructural Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) works.
  • Communicating and attending meetings to resolve design issues.

    Geotechnical Structures Design
  • Ensuring the designing of geotechnical structures, coordinating with the Department of Design and Construction, and carrying out parallel analyses to propose optimized solutions.
  • Ensuring quick deliveries and remedies to site execution related issues.
  • Interacting with client, Project Management Consultant (PMC) and proof checkers for amicable resolution of design issues.
  • Visiting sites for problem solving and resolving disputes with clients and consultants.

    Tender Design and Document Review
  • Understanding the Geotechnical Scope of the Tender.
  • Identifying potential geotechnical risks and providing remedies.
  • Identifying external expert for possible outsourcing design and technical services.
  • Ensuring the preparation of bill of quantities (BOQs) and specifications for the geotechnical proposals including geotechnical investigations.
  • Ensuring the critical review of design proposals from Anchor Designer and identifying geotechnical feasibility.
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimized quantities to win the bid.

Training and Mentoring

  • Providing training and nurturing team members internally
  • Providing support for training at corporate level, induction as desired by Technical Training dept. and Human Resource Department.

Key Objective of the Job Position

•    Developing cost-effective geotechnical design layouts based on construction requirements and specifications adhering to established Design Guidelines and Procedures.
•    Performing Civil Design Analysis and calculations as per project requirements, determining construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs.
•    Performing Field Surveys and Investigations to prepare Engineering Drawings.
•    Reviewing Project Plan and determining the design feasibility and constraints using latest software and technologies to develop effective designs and managing design projects within allotted timelines and budgets.

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: MTech (Geotechnical)
Educational Desirable: PhD in Geotechnical

Computer Software Proficiency

Plaxis, Wallap, Slide, A-Pile, L-Pile, GRLWEAP, AutoCAD, MS.Excel designs, RS software and other equivalent software

Experience Range

15-25 years for experience with minimum 10 years with leading infrastructural firms in India.

Work Environment

Spending most of their time indoors in offices and occasionally project site visit to coordinate and resolve design related issues. May need to work extended hours on Computers using various software. May need to sustain pressure well. May need to work closely with external Design Consultant, PMC Design Consultant and Client.
