Engineer/Sr. Engineer Structural Design (Oil & Gas)

Afcons Infrastructure Limited is an Indian multinational construction and engineering company based in Mumbai. The company provides infrastructure services and is involved in the construction of infrastructure projects such as viaducts, flyovers, metros, bridges, pipelines, roads, ports, barrages, oil and gas projects etc.

Roles and Responsibilities 01

• • • • Feasibility, basic engineering and detailed engineering of brown field and green field projects as per SOW, client specifications, codes, and standards.
      • pre-engineering survey preparedness for Brownfield modifications including checklist for survey data to be collected such as geotechnical data, existing structural details.
      • Review of pre-survey report to endorse SOW, highlighting major hindrance from construction point of view.
      • Finalization of design basis, specifications as per client specifications, codes, and standards.
      • Concept development and further development to detail engineering for brown filed / Green field structural components.

Roles and Responsibilities 02

0. Review drawings and calculations.
   • Review calculations and construction documents created by support staff engineers to ensure correct engineering analysis has been performed and company standards and quality expectations are met.
   • Perform shop drawing review ensuring that all requirements set forth by provided engineered construction documents and specifications have been met.
   • Basic knowledge of architectural layout requirements through study of tender documents & understanding the client requirement.
   • Review Plant layouts, roads, drains, pipeline & support layouts, Underground structures layout siting etc. in respect to established codes (IS or OISD or Foreign codes), industry standards, or bid requirements etc. and finalise.

• Review of design calculation for RCC, STEEL STRUCTURES, Foundation design etc. drawings pertaining to Vendor skids, equipment’s.Actively engage in problem-solving and pursue new means and methods for solving such problems.

Perform the problem-solving cycle per the following:

1. State the problem, redefine the problem to eliminate bias, identify constraints and set general objectives, identify alternative solutions, analyse alternatives, and select the most viable alternative. Software: SACS, ANSYS, Sesame, GRLWEAP, Staad, AutoCAD, Navisworks etc.

• Co-ordination with and handling queries from client for approval of Engineering deliverables and Purchase Specifications, design sub-contractor and Company.
• Manage and collaborate with support staff to efficiently complete projects and meet expected budgets and timeline. Communicate with management regarding project status.
• Study of SOW and bid drawings, review of DCI/ MCI, and preparedness with engineering & project team for Kick off project.
• Follow up project progress and make sure all progress is reflected accurately in weekly and monthly progress reports.

Roles and Responsibilities 04

• Provide engineering input to equipment layout plans, mechanical data sheet, and review and approve 2D drawings and 3D models, and attending interdisciplinary review meeting.
• Preparation of delay studies, change order variance as per SOW & Contract.
• Discussion with execution team on methodology of construction and its impact on conceptualization.
• Engage in communications and collaboration with the client, architect, and/or designer to ensure goals and scope(s) of work are completed.
• Coordination with execution team for constructability issue at site and checking with team for availability of material at site to minimize wastage of materials.
• Resolving TQ at site to avoid delay time at site.

Roles and Responsibilities 05

• Review of MTO and MR for structural & Architecture as per AFC drawings.
• Preparation of SOW for vendor, technical query, and technical bid evaluation for structural & architectural scope.
• Follow up with estimation / project team for variation of bid quantities with quantities as per AFC drawings.
• Preparation of pre-construction in line with AFC drawings and post construction survey report to report AS BUILT done at offshore in line with AFC drawings.
• Ensure application and maintenance of all quality procedures.
• Work with all the team members and project team members; serve as interface with clients and interface between team members and management.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with team members.
• Communicate with co-workers in a professional and respectful manner.
• Collaborate with management to prioritize projects, workloads, and needs.
• Work with clients to ensure projects are meeting their goals and needs; communicate necessary adjustments to management, teams, and owners.
• Engage in professional development to enhance performance and maintain certifications.

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: B.E in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a reputed Institute/University. Minimum experience of 8 to 15 years.

Educational Desirable: M.E in Civil/Structural/Ocean Engineering/ or equivalent from a reputed Institute/University,

Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in Structural Design
