MANAGER / ENGINEER - QA/QC (MECH) - WATER SUPPLY 1

Afcons Infrastructure Limited is an Indian multinational construction and engineering company based in Mumbai. The company provides infrastructure services and is involved in the construction of infrastructure projects such as viaducts, flyovers, metros, bridges, pipelines, roads, ports, barrages, oil and gas projects etc.

Roles and Responsibilities 01

1. Quality Assurance and Quality Control:

   • Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and plans for mechanical components of water supply projects.
   • Review and interpret mechanical specifications, drawings, and standards to ensure compliance.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical works, including pipelines, pumps, valves, and other related equipment.
   • Monitor the quality of materials and equipment used in the project, ensuring they meet specified standards.

1. Inspection and Testing:

   • Coordinate and conduct inspections and tests on mechanical installations and components.
   • Ensure that all testing and inspection activities are carried out in accordance with the project QA/QC plan and relevant standards.
   • Document and report all inspection and testing activities, highlighting any non-conformances or issues.

• Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and certificates of compliance.
• Prepare and submit QA/QC reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure all quality documentation is properly archived and easily accessible.

QMS/Audit Management

•  Ensure Project Quality requirements are met.
• Monitor the set project quality objectives and ensure that it is achieved.
• Issue NCR upon finding any non-conformances and ensure that necessary corrective or remedial actions has been taken and NCR is closed within stipulated time frame.
• Conduct internal audit per scheduled audit program as directed by Project Quality Manager / Head-Quality.
•  Participate in internal / external QMS audit.

1. Coordination and Communication:

   • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve any quality issues.
   • Provide technical support and guidance on QA/QC matters to project personnel.
   • Participate in project meetings and communicate QA/QC requirements and updates.

   • Ensure all mechanical works comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
   • Stay updated with industry standards and advancements in QA/QC practices.
   • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the project team.

Key Objective of the Job Position

The QA/QC Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical aspects of water supply construction projects meet the required quality standards and specifications. This role involves overseeing the implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) measures, conducting inspections and tests, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.

Diploma / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
