Roles and Responsibilities 01

Executing work within Budget ensuring adherence to Quality Norms

• Preparing work plans for the work fronts in respective section for budget and giving intend for resources (materials, manpower and machinery) to the respective departments (well in advance) for achieving the targets.
• Understanding the methodology thoroughly (provided in contract agreement) for various major activities and studying the construction drawings and contract technical specifications to understand the scope of works and its payment entitlements. If any additional work is shown in the drawings, immediately informing the site Contracts Department to notify the client (other than scope of work provided in the contractual technical specifications).
• Assisting Planning Department in preparing segmental methodology for activities to be executed, as per site conditions.
• Ensuring overall delivery of tasks pertaining to section as per timelines, project specifications, AFCONS’ procedures and quality standards.
• Identifying work to be carried out through Piece Rate Contractors (PRW) / Subcontractors and provide inputs for Piece Rate Contractors (PRW) & Subcontractors Rate Analysis.
• Assisting Quantity Survey (QSS) department during rate negotiations with Piece Rate Contractors (PRW)  and Subcontractors.
• Organizing and allocating works after deployment of Piece Rate Contractors (PRW) / Subcontractors and motivating them to achieve the planned progress.
• Preparation of Piece Rate Contractors (PRW) and Subcontractors bills on monthly basis against their work done and send it to site Quantity Survey (QSS) department for process and payments.

Roles and Responsibilities 02

• Overseeing and ensuring that all workmen working safely with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as per safety norms.
• Overseeing on-site execution of work at various sites as per planned budget and specifications. Interacting with Site Engineers for the same.
• Making budget workplan and micro level plan of each activity and guiding Shift Engineers to make them understand and execute the activities be to achieve the targets.
• Arranging machinery in coordination with site CPE for respective works and ensuring its proper utilization.
• Monitoring progress as per construction plan and schedule of various sites and the section. Reporting daily progress to Site Planning for preparing DPR.
• Identifying opportunities for application of good engineering practices / innovative practices to enhance quality of delivery and communicating the same to the Construction Manager.
• Maintaining the record of hindrances (in executing the project) in register and getting it signed by client representatives and submitting it to site contracts department for notifying the client regarding extension of time (EOT).
• "Overseeing cost control of assigned section:

a) Completion of section’s work within the budgeted cost.

b) Obtaining joint measurements with client representatives for the work done and send it to site Quantity Survey (QSS) for claiming the bill on monthly basis. "

• If any dispute (or out of scope work) with client site representative comes up, taking it up with site Contracts Manager to notify the client, in line with the contract provisions to get the payments as entitled.

Roles and Responsibilities 03

Specialized Roles and Responsibilities for Water Supply Segment

• execution of large sized EPC projects involving construction / execution of Water Treatment Plants, Pump Houses, OWT, SWT, Chlorination Units, HDPE / DI / MS / PVC Pipe laying, Intakes, Transmission Lines and House Service Connections.
• Updating daily progress review and informing Construction Manager on day-to-day progress.

Overseeing Optimum Resource Utilization (Manpower, Material and Equipment)

• Ensuring optimum usage of equipment and material allocated to section as per construction schedule.
• Identifying areas for waste reduction.
• Assisting Site Stores and Quantity Survey (QSS) department to prepare monthly reconciliation of major materials to minimize the waste.
• Overseeing activities for the section and ensuring availability of personnel by raising timely requisitions to the Construction Manager.

Building and sustaining harmonious relationships with external entities

• Ensuring regular interactions and cordial relations with clients.
• Regular and effective Sub-contractor management and development.
• Supporting Subcontractor / Piece Rate Workmen (PRW) development programs and welfare measures.
• Maintaining cordial relations with local community and its representatives.
• Handling local community grievances and escalation to Construction Manager and Project Manager if necessary

Roles and Responsibilities 04

Safety Management

• Ensuring that safety is a top priority and striving to ensure zero incidents / accidents.
• Providing leadership in safety management by ensuring the adherence to safety goals, policies, guidelines, processes, and any new implementation by AFCONS management / authorities / client / customer.
• Regularly reviewing safety performance and taking corrective action when necessary.
• Monitoring safety workshops, safety drills, and safety awareness programs to increase safety awareness among the project team.
• Developing a safety culture within the project team and encouraging all team members to take responsibility for safety.
• Ensuring that all safety equipment are in place and used properly.

ISO 9001:2015

• Ensure maintaining the documentation for ISO 9001:2015 Audit

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Computer Software Proficiency

MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point

Experience Range

Overall, 10 to 20 years of exposure in Ground Water Supply Projects, Surface Water Supply Projects, Water Treatment Plants, Tube well, Intakes RCC Buildings, Water Reservoirs (Overhead and Surface), HDPE / MS / DI / PVC Pipe laying, Transmission Lines, Irrigation, Pump House and House Service Connections.
