Roles and Responsibilities 01

MEP Works

  • Understanding project’s budget and schedule; overseeing the electro-mechanical works to ensure on time execution within the budget as well as adhering to the quality parameters, health, and safety requirements.
  • Developing action and recovery plans to support program delivery on time.
  • Inter Departmental coordination with Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, ELEV System (MEP) Design Consultant for submission of Dynamic Braking Resistor, Good for Construction (GFC) Drawings and verification of Water Resource Department. Preparing and submitting requests for clarification to Design Consultants for queries in the GFC drawings.
  • Maintaining baseline schedule for MEP works of Tunnel and other structure / Building activities and regular monitoring of MEP package works with respect to approved baseline schedule on weekly basis.
  • Highlighting the progress variance to the senior management. Following up with vendor for catching up schedules and augmentation of resources.
  • Inspection of supplied material, ensuring the correctness of MEP installations with respect to GFC drawings.
  • MEP Design Coordination with Consultants and Client.
  • Responsible for job mobilization, MEP planning activities.
  • Prepare and provide to site teams the required technical clarification with all details as and when they required for the project.
  • Checking the MEP and Floating Production System installations for quality.
  • Preparation of Method statements for MEP works / Installations. 
  • Coordinating with other packages for clash free and smooth progress at site.
  • Compliance of Electrical system and Fire system completely with the statutory norms.
  • Coordinating and complying with Local Electrical Inspector, Chief Fire Officer, and local municipal authorities of the concerned location.
  • Leading the team of MEP Engineers
  • Construction site monitoring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical items.

Roles and Responsibilities 02

Supervising Contractor Performance

  • Supervision and approval of the contractors' MEP work related to Underground Tunnel, Underground Station Buildings, Shaft, Open ramp Cut and Cover etc.

Safety Management

  • Ensuring that safety is a top priority and striving to ensure zero incidents / accidents.
  • Providing leadership in safety management by ensuring the adherence to safety goals, policies, guidelines, processes, and any new implementation by AFCONS management / authorities / client / customer.
  • Regularly reviewing safety performance and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Monitoring safety workshops, safety drills, and safety awareness programs to increase safety awareness among the project team.
  • Developing a safety culture within the project team and encouraging all team members to take responsibility for safety.
  • Ensuring that all safety equipment are in place and used properly.

Key Objective of the Job Position

Ensuring the electro-mechanical works at all key project locations on time and within budget as per the project milestones.

Education Qualifications

Educational Essential: BE / BTech– Mechanical / Electrical
Educational Desirable: MTech – Mechanical / Electrical

Computer Software Proficiency

MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point

Experience Range

Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience in Underground / Elevated Metro, Roads, Tunnels and Water Segment Projects.

Work Environment

Work in all climatic conditions, at heights and Tunnel works. Need to split their time between working in an office and working outdoors at construction sites so that they can monitor operations or solve problems. May need to work extra hours to ensure that the projects meet their deadlines. May need to travel to work sites at domestic or overseas location. Deal & convince all types of people (Including labour to Project Manager & Clients). Maintain a high-level safety standard at work site as civil construction work is risk prone. Maintain a high level of social contact.
